CNC Operator


HOURS: To Be Determined

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Ability to alter G-Code programs to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Knowledge of writing simple programs.
  • Provide high level machining skills & comprehension.
  • Create and implement custom set-ups.
  • Comprehend and execute set-up sheets.
  • Knowledge of various types of metal and steel.
  • Dimensionally & visually verify finished part quality.
  • Leadership relating to the guidance and training of apprentice machinists.
  • Operate and inspect material handling equipment (such as overhead & mobile cranes); light mobile equipment (such as forklifts, pick-up trucks).
  • Good housekeeping practices at all times, to help maintain safe work areas for yourself and your co-workers.
  • Work independently or in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manual dexterity: The ability to effectively manipulate and assemble objects.
  • Static Strength: The ability to exert significant muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
  • Trunk Strength: The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly over time, including bending.
  • Dynamic Strength: The ability to exert muscle force at intervals throughout a work shift involving muscular endurance and resistance to muscle fatigue.
  • Agility: The ability to negotiate different areas including climbing stairs and ladders and moving around objects.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong understanding of programming and G-Code.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a CNC Machine shop environment.
  • Ability to create and implement custom set-ups.
  • Strong drawing interpretation skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Competent in machining principles.
